OUR PITCHES

Tents

The campsite is small and we are unable to accomodate large tents and motorhomes. The sizes below are the size of the tent pitch, not the footprint of the tent they can accommodate. Some of our tent pitches have a slope to them, but we have been undertaking a programme to level off a few extra pitches each year. There is no vehicular access to the tent camping area, but wheelbarrows are available to help transport your gear from the car to the pitch.

Small tent pitch - 3mx4m grass pitch for 1 tent, including one adult.

Medium tent pitch - 4mx6m grass pitch for 1 tent, including two adults.

Large tent pitch - 5.5mx7.5m grass pitch for 1 tent, including two adults.

Family tent pitch - this pitch is set away from the other tent pitches and can accommodate 2 medium-large tents and a fire pit, allowing families to stay together. The Family Pitch includes 4 adults.

Pitches 11 (small), 12 (large) and 13 (medium) are closest to the facilities building - please specify on booking if you require one of these pitches.

On some occassions it may be possible to fit 2 small tents on a large pitch, however please discuss this with us before booking. It is not possible to have multiple tents on small or medium pitches.

CAMPERVans and MOtorhomes

Due to the size of our pitches and limited space for manoeuvring at the van facilities, we also have to limit motorhome length onsite to maximum 7m. Pitches 4-10 are particularly tight and we recommend maximum 6m vehicles for these spaces, with larger vehicles (up to 7m) better suited to pitches 1-3. Pitch 3 is closest to the facilities building, accessible toilet and shower and best suited to guests with mobility limitations - please specify on booking if you require this pitch.  We can accommodate small side awnings on most pitches, up to 3m wide but it is not permissible to sleep in awnings or tents on the van pitches.

The pitches are laid out so that there is a hardstanding bay to the right hand side of the pitch and a grass area on the left - you may need to reverse in or drive in forwards in order to have your side door opening on to the grass of your pitch.

Motorhome Pitch with EHU (Pitches 1-3): Hardstanding bay suitable for vehicles up to 7m in length with an electric hook up connection - a cable of at least 12m is required. Closest to the facilities building and accessible toilet. Rate includes two adults.

Campervan Pitch with EHU (Pitches 4-10): Hardstanding bay at front of the site suitable for vehicles up to 6m in length with small area of grass to the side and electric hook-up connection - a cable of at least 15m is required. Rate includes two adults.

Additional adults and children can be added to a pitch, up to a total of 6 people per pitch.

ROOFTENTS

Rooftents are welcome, but you'll need to book a campervan pitch as you can't drive to the tent pitches. Please add a note to your booking so we can allocate you the most suitable pitch.

CARAVANS AND TRAILER TENTS

Caravans are not permitted on the Isle of Gigha, and therefore we do not take bookings for caravans. This includes all types of caravans, folding caravans, trailer tents and tear drop caravans.

FACILITIES

On the campsite

Our facilities block houses 5 showers, 5 toilets and 2 urinals, including accessible facilities. Three of our showers have hairdryers and our accessible shower has an adapted shower with seat, a bath and a baby changer. Washing up liquid, sponges and tea towels are provided in the covered washing up area which also has a washing line for hanging small items. Outdoor drying bars are provided for larger items such as wetsuits and beach towels. Picnic benches are located around the site, including two in the covered area at the rear of the building.

Campervans and motorhomes can make use of the water top up, grey water disposal point and the chemical waste disposal point. We have ten van pitches all with electric hook-up.

Campers have 24hr access to a kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, freezer and plug points for charging phones and battery packs.

In reception you can find visitor information and borrow forgotten camping equipment, fire pits to take to the beach and boardgames and a book swap. There are also souvenirs and camping supplies for sale.

A communal fire pit is located to the rear of the site and logs (and campfire snack packs!) are available to purchase from reception.

An electric vehicle charging point is available onsite on a pay as you go basis.

We have separate bins for general waste, recycling, glass and ash (from BBQs and fires).

Our facilities are only available to guests of the Isle of Gigha Camp and Motorhome Site. We are unable to offer showers and toilets to day trippers and wild campers. Public toilets are located in the adjacent Council car park.
